Ask Saldek

Open “Ask Saldek” in the top bar or on any page with ⌘ J (Mac) or Ctrl + J (Windows). Ask in your own language; the answer uses the labels exactly as you see them in Saldek. The “Ask Saldek” page shows the assistant full screen, “History” lists earlier conversations, and “New conversation” starts a new one.

What the assistant can do

• Questions about your data: for example “How much VAT do I owe this quarter?”. The answer is based on your documents and bookings and lists its sources below.
• Finding your way in Saldek: Ask “Where do I find …?” or “How do I …?”. The assistant names the path, opens the place with “Open”, or highlights it with “Show”. If your role or plan does not allow something, it says why and shows the button disabled; if another step must come first, such as an open fiscal year, it names that step first.
• What is waiting today: open reviews, drafts, mailbox suggestions, overdue invoices, and the next deadlines for VAT returns and annual returns.
• Explaining review reasons: In the review view, ask “Why is this document in review?”.
• Tax rules: The assistant gives general information on rules in Austria and Germany only from checked entries with an official source, always noting that you should ask your tax advisor about your own case. For other countries, or without a matching entry, it does not answer the question.
• Product tour and guides: On request, it starts the “Product tour” and walks you step by step through tasks such as your first VAT return, invoices from your mailbox, or the year-end. It recognizes completed steps from your data.

Suggested steps

Some answers include a card with a step, for example having the AI re-read a document, rejecting a document as “Not a business expense” (its unposted booking proposal is dropped), starting an invoice, recording a payment, creating a fiscal year, searching older e-mails for invoices, inviting your tax advisor, or writing to the Saldek team. Nothing happens until you press the card; before a change, Saldek asks and says what will happen. The step runs with your own permissions, and the log records that it was started through the assistant.

Answers, sources, and costs

Below each answer you see whether it is an “AI answer” or a “Template answer”, how many sources it is based on, and how many credits it cost. Every plan includes free AI answers each month: Starter 50, Business 300, Pro 1,500, and Enterprise 5,000. After that, and during the trial, each AI answer costs 1 credit; template answers are free. In “Without AI” mode, Saldek answers with templates only.

Rate an answer with a thumbs up or down. Saldek stores only the rating, the reason, and the question without your own details such as names, amounts, or numbers.
